This Sunday was the anticipated congregational vote to consider a motion that would enable the church to explore a concept and direction for the renewal of the Knox site and facilities. After praying and deliberating, Session has decided to postpone the vote by two weeks, moving it onto the agenda of the Annual Congregational Meeting (ACM) on June 12, 2016.
In response to feedback received from the congregation, Session wanted to provide additional space and opportunity for congregational prayer for the Renewal proposal (this Sunday and June 8, the congregation is invited to come together for additional prayer). Additionally, at the ACM, the congregation will be able to hear of ministry plans for the coming year, a helpful frame to consider the site and facilities renewal proposal, reminding us that we are focused on ministry. As well, both the morning and afternoon Knox communities are invited together, allowing for a single vote rather than two separate voting times as planned on May 29th.
We understand that some of you may not be able to attend the ACM and were looking forward to voting Sunday. We want you to be part of this process, so we are providing you absentee ballots (available Sunday only).
