Daily Devotional: March 3

Scripture: Ephesians 2:8-10

Reflection:

The sin of sloth “calls itself Tolerance; but in hell it is called Despair… It is the sin which believes in nothing, cares for nothing, seeks to know nothing, interferes with nothing, enjoys nothing, loves nothing, hates nothing, finds purpose in nothing, lives for nothing, and only remains alive because there is nothing it would die for.” ~Dorothy Sayers

“Sloth is the party pooper throwing cold water on passion and desire …. Sloth likes to sit on the porch, bored to death and dribble forth inane, pointless and sometimes cruel comments, all suggesting a weariness and dissatisfaction with the world, others and mostly oneself. It is the spirit of the living dead.” ~ Albert Hasse

Prayer: Holy Spirit, breathe on me and wake me up. Help me to believe. Help me to enjoy. Help me to care. Help me to find purpose. Help me to live for something. Amen
