Ask the Knox Camp worship leader

Knox Overnight camp is only a couple weeks away, and we want to take some time to highlight some of the amazing things that happen during that week up at Fraser Lake.

Brad Guldemond is a worship leader, singer, and songwriter who has worked at camps for many years. In 2013 and 2014 he led worship for all the campers and staff at Knox Camp, and in 2015 he also released his own album of children’s worship music entitled “Let It Out!” We asked Brad a few questions about his experience at camp.

What role does worship play in the camp environment?

Worship allows everyone to come together and intentionally spend time together celebrating God, remembering who He is, and giving Him the praise He is worthy of.  It’s a time when everyone is focused on God together.

What has God taught you through your weeks at Knox Camp?

God has taught me that taking time to get away from the distractions of normal life give space to develop deeper relationships with others and with God. Knox Camp is awesome because there is all kinds of different ages there that get to have their own time, and also time together learning, playing, worshipping, and doing community together.

What is one of your favourite memories from your weeks at Knox Camp?

I have a few that stand out.  Of course the talent show and specifically the Sr. Boys dance routines are always hilarious. And I loved leading worship and speaking to the Sr. High’s on one Friday night session. We had a powerful time in God’s presence together.
